Groms riding Brutus

My friend's 12 year old kid rode Brutus this weekend. I'm wondering if anyone younger than him has hit it. Anyone on here know?

Before we get into wether this was a good idea or not, this kid is the most naturally talented rider I know, and has exceptionally good judgment wrt his abilities. Was it risky? Obviously yes, but he definitely has the experience and skills to send it successfully.

Old and slow

Nates IG account “managed by mom”.  I tired (ironic typo - tried) chasing him down a Fiver course   Could barely keep up.

Impressive, yes.  But I wonder how much social media drives kids and their parents, with dreams of spawnzorship.

CJ is now 15 (acc to his IG bio), I met him in 2020/21? at a trail-day and he was slapping the nicest berm I’ve seem built.  He was then plopping drops I have never dreamt of and he is now sponsored.  His dream is alive.

@gnarleynate9

@cjhauptman - Brutus is in there somewhere, not sure how old he was.

Nate is a good kid and has very supportive parents, they came out to a trail day this year and I've seen them around Cypress hill numerous times.  What a shredder too!

Nate started riding full Fivers courses a couple years back at 9yrs old with his mom. Kiddo shreds.

What about grandpa's hitting Brutus? Who's the oldest? I think I saw a fairly recent clip of Wade hitting it, so at least that gen?

That's a good point, I think with the progression we all see in groms now, it's almost more impressive to see how OLD you can be and still hit stuff like that.

Totally agree Kever. They are planning to come to the dig day this weekend too.

Definitely this ^.   Us oldies don't heal as fast either.

There's a kid named Jonah (I think) who has to be about 12 - 14 who did it over on Youtube about 1 year ago.

Craziest part is he almost hits someone heading up the road when he does it (guess he didn't have a spotter).

No spotter, but a film crew. Kids these days…

Don't know if she ever did drops like Brutus. The super hero for the senior set North Shore Betty is 75.

Definitely. I'd put Old Man Peter on that list too. 80yo, still maintaining trail, and he actually laid waste to my 41yo buddy's pace up to Lord of the Squirrels a couple of years ago, steadily cranking over on his old 29er hard tail.

The first time I saw OMP, was one of my first visits to the Shore, ~1999.  He was even known as Old Man Peter at that time, rocking bar ends and slaying skinnies.
