Yep, the masses love these things.

I still prefer real mountain bikes myself.

You can ride a steep janky rock face on an EUC? Gnarly roots?

I can’t see these things getting much further than groomed bermfests but I’m wrong about all kinds of things so who knows. To me they seem like 2024’s Mountain Board.

This was to my surprise as well. I pulled over to see how they would roll down the little rock outcropping toward the bottom of Expresso. They easily sent the steep part of the rock that sends you down with the tree adjacent to your left handlebar. They're basically on a tire that smears the features extremely well.

^^^

It'll be interesting to see the breakdown. I'd guess it'll be far more ecommuter type bikes than emtbs.

Maybe that's true Syncro, but my own anecdotal experience is that it feels like e-stuff is becoming more normative.

I suppose it’s time for some etiquette education and trail org memberships then.

Indeed, most Interesting part is those numbers have jack all to do with E-MTB's.

News that commuter e-bike numbers are climbing however is a great thing. There's even a section there for cargo bike data.

E-MTB purely for recreation, as always, remains a turd burger.

Mind you, I don’t ride with someone not on an emtb, cause they’re rude!

I see very few ebikers on janky trails I ride, especially so on Grannies, Bookwus, Crippler and others.  I think that is very telling.  I do, however, see them aplenty at Espresso, Lower Digger, Bobsled, Seventh and Lower Espresso.  Notice a theme?

I think the theme is there are lots of e-bikes on the hill.  Don't get me wrong, I could care less if you're riding an e-bike up and down the hill.  I think if you're parading around a full-throttle machine then you've crossed a line.

David will be staying with us in June with his solar powered electric trike he's toured the world with. Shall we allow him on the shore? ;)

Check it out, it's quite a machine!  Scroll down for photos
