Steve Vanderhoek - Gap Hunting on 5th Horseman

Photos Brandon Artis

5th Horseman on the North Shore holds a special place in Steve Vanderhoek's heart. He said, "I first rode this trail when I was probably 15 years old with Ken Maude (OG Shore legend and one of the owners of Lynn Valley Bikes) when my Dad hired him to give me lessons as I was all balls and no skill and kept crashing! Fast forward to 31 and I wanted to try and ride it like I never have before: pulling for some fresh gaps."

So that’s how you’re supposed to ride it! Some crazy lines in there executed beautifully.  I nicely shot and edited as well.

I ran into Steve on Saturday, he mentioned pulling the measuring tape on the Damo's gap - 38' out and 15' down!
