This hasn't changed, and focusing on what's trendy won't either

Focusing on what's trendy? My man, there has been a fair amount of dislike for how the Israelis have been dealing with Palestinians for quite some time. To call it trendy is a stretch for sure.

7 Central World Kitchen workers by IDF.

They even called the IDF ahead of time to request not to be blown up and IDF assured them they wouldn't get blown up...then blew them up.

There's now way it wasn't on purpose.

Option B: In their zeal to "eradicate hamas" they don't care who gets hurt along the way.

Option C: They are far more incompetent than we realize.

I think it is mostly a combination of B and C, but it's unlikely we will ever get an honest answer from the IDF.  They killed hostages in the past as well, and that certainly wasn't good for Bibi, so incompetence is definitely on the table.  Bibi is obsessed with claiming a victory and has stated since the start that he will only accept the the total elimination of Hamas.  His political life and possibly his freedom are on the line and he is every bit as narcissistic as Trump.  He just doesn't care how many innocent people need to die in his impossible dream to claim victory.  They just bombed a Iranian embassy as well.  He is unhinged and willing to escalate this war into something much much worse.

In the meantime he is also facing fallout with his coalition government.  A new law just passed that will force the Ultra Orthodox Haredi Jews into mandatory service and take away their stipend for just studying the Torah all day.  They have had an exemption since the 40s, but there were only a couple of hundred back then.  They have a load of kids so now they make up a large portion of society and the people risking their lives to fight in Gaza are super pissed about it, but the ultra Orthodox are demanding the law be rescinded.  Bibi has a loose coalition with strong voices on both sides so this looks like this will be the end of it.  It's a total mess.

It's trendy in that most people only care about what shows up in their social media feed.  Places like, say, Nigeria or the Sudan aren't discussed.

Ok, that's fair. The flipside tho is that most people have limited energy to give to these situations and the ones that get the most media attention are the ones that tend to be on peoples minds. There are way too many shit situations taking place around the world and unfortunately only a few of them have enough financial/political significance or social relevance to garner high levels of interest.

In a way the world is a nonsensical place. For example you can have a few dozen people debating whether bike companies know best or know nothing occupying more of their brain cells than some tragic situation in some place they've never been and probably couldn't even find on a map. Obviously the needless suffering of innocent humans is a far more important topic, but one is relevant to people here and the other less so. It sucks, but I don't know how to change that.

I wonder what the cost ratio is for an Iranian missile vs. an Israeli air-defense missile...

How many billions did it cost to block that wave? How long can the US keep propping them up?

" Suleiman alleged that some of the bodies had been found with hands and feet tied, “and there were signs of field executions. We do not know if they were buried alive or executed. Most of the bodies are decomposed.”

We seek to liberate Judaism from an ethnostate that wants Jews to be perennially afraid, that wants our children to be afraid, that wants us to believe the world is against us so that we go running to its fortress and beneath its iron dome, or at least keep the weapons and donations flowing.

I think this is one of the worst aspects of Zionism that is finally being challenged.  They want us all to believe that we are always on the verge of a new holocaust.  The Zionists hype the fear because they want people to think that Israel is the only place on Earth where Jews can be safe, even though that is clearly not true.

These college protests are nuts. Zionist counter protesters seem to be able to do anything while the cops stand around and watch.
