The GP Ravelli: Would you believe this was in Brazil?

This was a special weekend for the Brazilian freeride scene. For the first time we had a slopestyle competition. The man responsible for that was Marcio Ravelli, a ten time Brazilian Cross-Country Champion who has lately gotten into freeriding.

run.
The morning of the event opened with a beautiful cloudless sky over Itu (São Paulo) where the competition would take place. The top 20 Brazilian freeriders all showed up to compete and support the event, which was one of the reasons it was such a huge success.
The first teeter-totter seen in an event in Brazil.
Inspired by Crankworx in Whistler, BC and other big freeride events, the track had a variety of challenging obstacles including 3 wall-rides, 4 doubles (one with a tree in between), a dirt transfer, boxes, a big road gap, and a teeter-totter.

Although Brazilian riders are not well known on the international scene yet, this event showcased the high level of talent just waiting to be discovered. The competitors pulled out backflips, supermans, nothings, seat grabs and 360s. Yeah! We loved it!

With the addition of this competition, this year turned out to be a big one for the Brazilian mountain biking scene. This year we held a World Cup, and this Red Bull urban freeride event. Now, people are really excited to add even more competitions and events to next year's schedule.
You are all welcome to ride with us next time!
