Ripper #2... Super D!

The sea bus after a long rideWell to start things off ill talk about my week of hell prior to the ripper. To start the week off my only bike got stolen from my friends backyard while I went out for dinner. This sucked allot because I had just put on a bunch of brand new Syncros parts, Magura brake and my fox 36 fork! So this was enough to ruin my week, but i guess someone decided it wasn't. The morning after my bike got stolen I woke up with a horrible sore throat and after a night of throwing up I went to the doctor to find out that I had strep throat. So I spent about 7 days of lying in bed feeling like crap.

During the time I was sick Dan Crowe-Hutchon asked me to do the ripper with his team and I decided it was a good idea. Our original plan was to have a team of 4 but at 10:00 pm the night before the race 2 of the other guys dropped out on us, so it was just Dan and my self.

I ended up borrowing a friends bike (thanks Jermey) to do the Ripper seeing as the closest thing to a bike i had was a Kuwahara the the 80's. The race was awesome and was well worth having to get up early in the morning, do the race, then ride to the sea bus, bus to work and work the rest of the day! By 6:00 I wanted to fall asleep at work rather than riding back home. Anyways, enough of my complaining, here are some pictures of the highlights of the event for me.

Dan and I shredding some classic shore!

Mr. Crist riding the dangerous slopes of Mt. Seymour.

Turning a corner in pain after sitting around for a week before a race.
