Sunshine Coast again
This past weekend the 21st and 22nd of October I realized I had to go back to the Sunshine Coast!(ssc)I woke up early saturday morning to ride my bike over to the ferry and catch the 9am ferry over to SSC. I met up with Jay Sinclair, Doug Mcmillan and Taylor P. And of course our host as usual..THE DYLAN DUNKERTON(aka stubs). Dylan and his parents are awesome people, super welcoming, shuttle us up the mountain and are amazing cooks! I was super stoked to get riding on the mountain with these guys, especially since both Jay and Doug had never ridden the ssc loam before.
We went over to Dylan's house for a bit, then went right up the mountain to a trail with lots of cutties. mmm cutties. (a cutty is a cornering technique where you do not use your brakes, but spray dirt like you were Curtis Robinson. In the dictionary beside the word cutty, there is a pic of Curtis from the ssc). We shredded through that trail, with a bit of up hill, which warmed us up. Next run we figured we could take the guys down some of ssc's version of north shore ladders. Which ment really nice landings, smooth run ins, everything was butterrrrr. Next trail we hit of that run was called DNA. It has some cool tables/gaps on it, which are quick and smooth. Sinclair loved them! After that, we needed some LUNCH. Dylan is one lucky dood, he can ride trails all the way to his driveway, with very little uphill. uuhhh I want to live on ssc.
STUBS
We ate some of ssc's finest cooking from Dylan's mom Joanne, then looked at some of Dylan's amazing photos and peeped some of his vid coming out soon, called Undisclosed-A Stubs Production, I am super stoked too see this video when it comes out, I watched one section of a certain someone, and it was sooo sweet! Really made me want to go huck myself off some stuff, and go fast. haha. After a bit we went back up the mountain, this time with Jay and Doug's cameras to shoot some stunts on the mountain. We sessioned one step-up to step-down which was pretty imtimidating, and I attempted to trick it...but that was scary. Dylan had some SICK tables and x ups off of it, and I did some awesome dead-sailors. After a bit, Dylan exploded his pedal, and after trying to bang it back with a rock we realized that was it for that stunt. We realized time really flies on the ssc, because its always fun. Jay and Doug needed to cath the 6:20 ferry and it was already 4:30ish and we were still at the top of the mountain! So we ripped down the mountain as quick as we could, so we could have a bit of jump sessioning time left. Turned out we didn't have enough time, so we ripped Dylan's jumps to jump TRAIL. Yes that is the next cool thing everyone, dont have a burm at the end of your dj set, build a trail with the same designed jumps all the way down..so fun.
Overrall that was a pretty sweet day, lots of flow and fun with good people. Hopefully I'll be back more than 324950932450 times by next year!
Here are the pictorials that Jay took, and some of the footage that doug shot with his handycam. And for all you bulletin board readers from last year, yes on the horizon that is fog in the pics of Dylan.

The pictorials are by Jay Sinclair, and the vid by Doug Mcmillan. Thanks for coming out and bicycling and shooting guys! And I'm sorry for the poor internet quality of Doug's vid, but I uploaded it in a terrible fashion.
