West Coast Freeride Guides
For the love of the ride
Robert Rebholz

A beautiful example of riders making a living at what they love to do, the West Coast Freeride Guides offer guided bike tours of the best British Columbia has to offer. Owned and operated by local freeride militiamen Michael Hallett and Brian Cameron, the West Coast Freeride Guides offer single or multi-day adventure vacations that will take you to riding spots that were until now accessible only in your dreams. WCFG are happy to pick you up at the Vancouver International Airport, and can offer a discounted rate at several local hotels. On overnight adventures, WCFG will provide tents and provisions or arrange discounted hotels.

The range of trail riding WCFG offer guiding for is impressive. They run day shuttles to the slick rock heaven of Squamish and dry and dusty Pemberton with descents so steep they require a parachute. The North Shore is also within striking distance with Seymour, Cypress and Fromme to choose from. Beware, these guys know the Shore like the backs of their hands so don't follow too closely and wear your body armour. The interior of British Columbia is a favourite overnight trip with several destinations possible. The inland empire of Kamloops is a must for all who love blazing single track with massive stunts. If you're lucky you may even get to throw down with pros like Specialized mad man Brett Tippie and IDUN hero Brendon Parker. Williams Lake is another interior option with the friendliest locals who love showing off their new stunts. Either way you can't go wrong, if you contact the WCFG they can help to tailor a trip with your riding style and the time you have available in mind.

Heli drop anyone?

Riding with the WCFG not only brings you to the trails, but they also show you how to ride them. Expert trail riders, Hallett and Cameron will show you the lines by blazing them. They are also tight with local legends everywhere from Penticton to Williams Lake, so chances are you'll not only be riding with trained guides, but pro or semi-pro riders. On our trip to Squamish I sat next to the Bronze winner of last year's Red Bull Rampage in the shuttle van, Glyn O'Brien. Ride with WCFG and you'll not only be riding the best trails in B.C., but also the best riders. Give these guys a call,

Time to unload and ride downhill.
