nsmb.com: Powered by Toyota Freeride Team powered by BC Toyota Dealers for the next two years. |
NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, May 29, 2006 – NSMB.com and the BC Toyota Dealers’ Association are pleased to officially announce a two-year partnership. The NSMB Freeride Team has taken delivery of a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab V6 TRD Sport. The freshly decaled 236 hp 4.0L V6 beauty has already been in use for a few months, carrying the NSMB.com staff and Freeride Team to events such as the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA, as well as NSMBA Trail days and the ever-popular Specialized Ripper Series on the North Shore. You’ll also be able spot the Black Tacoma at quality riding spots all over B.C.; the Sunshine Coast, Whistler, Sun Peaks Silver Star and Squamish. The addition of a Thule T2 + 2 rack from Rack Attack means the new rig can carry up to 9 freeride bikes at a time.
“Obviously we’re stoked!”, said Cam McRae, founder and editor of NSMB.com, the world’s foremost source of freeride news and information, “we’ve been ramping up the Freeride Team every year, and having the BC Toyota Dealers come on board as a sponsor really takes us to another level. We started the Freeride Team to promote the website, and to put a public face on the work we do – which is not just to provide news and info about freeriding, but also to support organizations like the NSMBA in their fight to keep the trails we love open and in great shape. There's no other vehicle we'd rather have - the Tacoma is it.”

The Tacoma Double cab is the perfect vehicle for riders who want to saddle up often without any hassle. For roadtrips the Thule rack is great but for quick trips to the local hills we’ll just use the Dakine Tailgate cover and hang up to six bikes over the gate. For roadtrips four riders with all their gear will be a piece of cake. We’ll toss bikes on the Thule rack and gear can be covered up with the folding tonneau cover. If we need to get into the back country this 4x4 is equipped with a locking rear-differential, Bilstein off-road shocks and skid plates to get us through almost any conditions.
Jeremy Schaab, District Sales Manager for the BC Toyota Dealers Association,
had this to say: “As a North Shore resident and rider myself, I see the
influence that NSMB.com has on the freeride community in BC and the world, so
it’s a natural fit for us to connect with the a segment of the market
that out trucks cater to perfectly. We’re sure that the partnership with
NSMB will lead to great exposure of Toyota trucks in the north shore riding
community.”
Watch for the nsmb.com freeride team, and our new team truck, at a trailhead
near you. Make sure to say hi if you see us – we’re always happy
to shoot the breeze (especially if you show us your secret trail stashes –
ed.).
