$2 Bike Park lift ticket on Opening Day Sun Peaks' Bike Park and Chairlift Opens this Saturday, June 24th |
Mountain bikers and hikers can ride the Sunburst Chairlift on opening day for $2 this Saturday. The opening day promotion launches the mountain bike and alpine hiking season and is a charity fundraiser event for the local health association.
"There are plenty of reasons to come up to the slopes and check out the Sun Peaks Bike Park this summer," says Jordan Petrovics, mountain bike enthusiast and Sun Peaks Resort Corporation spokesperson. "The mountain bike trail crew has been working hard for the last month getting everything ready to roll this Saturday."
"Our machines have been busy making changes to the Biker Cross Course, Steam Shovel, Route 66 and Smooth Smoothie. And the team has been dialing in the single track with new bridges and dirt work on the classic Sun Peaks single track. With all the additions to the trail network throughout last summer, and trail construction this spring, riders are going to be pleasantly surprised with what we have to offer."
Sun Peaks' Bike Park is pleased to announce its new bike park partners: Marazocchi Canada, Gazza, Helly Hansen, Race Face, Dakine and Smith. Each supplier has generously donated prizes to the Biker Cross Race Series. The first race will be held this Sunday, June 26. For more information about this event please contact Guest Services via email at guestservices@sunpeaksresort.com, or by telephone at (250) 578-5474.
