Getting ready for summer on the slopes at Sun Peaks Resort - Opening day June 25 |

Preparation for opening day is now in high gear and things are shaping up great! Three new machine-built trails are presently being constructed for the bike park this summer. Home Run, one of the more gentle routes to the village has been reworked to suit almost every level of rider. Route 66 is presently being modified into a fast flowing berm-style trail that will offer some challenges to a novice rider and present plenty of options for those who like the elements of high speed.
Also on deck is the completion of Steam Shovel dirt jump trail to the top the Sunburst Lift. The machine-built additions were very well received last season and the locals are eager to see what Jason Paddison, trail construction supervisor; Chris, the man in the machine; and Lenny, shaper extraordinaire, are able to mold together.

Jason, trail construction supervisor says, "I'm very excited about how the season is shaping up and the progress that we are making on the trail construction. The progression and quality of the product is creating a very unique riding environment for all riders. The direction the park is going will make for an unforgettable riding experience this summer. You better get your bike ready for some ripping rides."

The Bike Park is officially set to open on Saturday June 25th. Opening Day is going to be a Toonie Day (ride the park for only two bucks) with all proceeds going to the Sun Peaks Health Association. As well, the Bear Country Race Series is going to be on Sunday - two timed runs down the biker cross course gets you entered for a ton of prizes from the crew at Time to Ride!
