Sustainable XC and DH mountain bike tours in Canada and Peru |
The company has long been praised for its local hiring practices and local sourcing, but now the company is taking it one step further: they have implemented a sustainable tourism mandate entitled Responsible Riding. The mandate includes several provisions, including continuing to hire and source locally, but also includes a mandate to put 3% of tour costs back into local environmental initiatives and development projects.

One of their first projects will be to help with the building of
schools and water projects in remote Peru, in communities where
clients will ride on the company's new Peru trips. In
addition, they will be taking donations of used bikes to Peru as part
of their Bicycles Without Borders initiative.
Company president Mike Brcic was recently featured on CFAX Radio in
Victoria in an interview about Responsible Riding. To hear the

nsmb.com editor Stuart Kernaghan will be joining Sacred Rides this
summer on their Ultimate
BC trip. The trip features 12 days of epic riding on trails in
Fernie, Nelson, Rossland, Revelstoke, Golden and Kananaskis. Watch for
his write-up later this summer!
