Race Face contest winner announced

I have been getting hounded via email after declaring the winner would be announced on the 3rd.  Sorry for the delay.  I will keep you in suspense no longer.  Our Kamloops correspondant, Cheryl Beattie, went through almost 1000 entries, sorted them down to 5 and then finally picked a winner. Thanks for handling that Cheryl - you are a star.

So to be eligible you had to do some digging around the new Race Face site to find out where new cranks and chainrings are tested. A few of you slackers guessed (the North Shore was the number one guess) but most of you actually did the required digging and found a link that leads backstage.  There are eight videos backstage - each one good for a chuckle.  It was of course the eighth you needed to watch to find out where the cranks are tested.  The answer is here. The rest of the backstage videos can be found here.

Our winner got the answer off the bat and then told us she's trying to ride as much as possible in any kind of weather - and then she sent us a photo to prove it.  We like that. Here's her entry.

Race Face chainrings are first tested in the parking lot!

And here's why I need a pair:

I am currently in a contest with a friend of mine to see who can mountain bike the most. Basically we're riding every day and we're currently at Day 80. Each ride must be a true shore-style ride, no namby-pamby rides around UBC. 56 of those days have been on my DH bike and my fellow contestant already wore out his bottom bracket (not a Race Face product)! Mine can't be far behind? And a pair of Race Face Diabolus cranks would look super
sweet on my bike. Also, I'd like to win so I can taunt one of my co-workers who entered this contest too. He doesn't ride nearly as much as I do and he won't even ride in the rain!

I've included a photo of me that was taken on Day 64 on Fromme...
cheers,
Heather

Race Face is about to pimp Heather's ride.

Congratulations Heather! Send me an email (cam@nsmb.com) and I'll let you know how to collect your sweet prize. While you're at it be sure to let me know how you manage to free up time to ride every day - we all want to know your secret..

We had entries from all over the world - even one from China.  Thanks to everyone who entered and Happy New Year to all.

The prize.
