Vancouver, B.C. - Race Face Performance Products, one of North America's leading producers of high performance mountain bike components and clothing, is proud to announce the signing of Richie Schley to its pro freeride team. Signed until June 2004, Richie will be riding Race Face's line of performance apparel and Roach protective wear. Schley has been running Race Face components since the formation of the Rocky Mountain Froriders in 1997. One of the founding fathers of the freeride movement, this former Canadian BMX champ has been pushing the limits of mountain biking since 1988. He is without a doubt, the most published freerider on the planet. Whether he's gracing the covers of the various industry mags or showcasing his skills on the silver screen, Richie continues to hold the title of mountain biking's undisputed media darling. Richie's teammates now include fellow frorider Tarek Rasouli, childhood friend and fellow freeride pioneer Brett Tippie, and Race Face's Ultimate Freeride Challenge winner Tyler Klassen. |

"Richie will be integral in helping take our apparel program to the next level,"
says Race Face's Marshall Rutman. "He's a veteran of the industry and he brings
a lot of experience and leadership to our team. Aside from his obvious riding
skills, Richie is a consummate professional and an ideal personification of
our brand, both on and off his bike. We're all really excited about this association
and look forward to the value Richie will add to the brand, both in exposure
and product development".
In addition to his riding sponsorship, Richie will be integrally involved in
the product development and testing of products for Race Face's expanding apparel
division. With 14 years of experience to draw on, Richie has a unique perspective
on all aspects of the freeride movement.
With a calendar filled with photo shoots and magazine interviews, Richie is in for a busy summer. He is currently shooting with Derek Westerlund for his segment in New World Disorder III - Freewheel Burning. He's also grooming the next generation of riders by coaching his own freeride camps at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.
