Mike Kinrade Joins NEMA's 2005 Athlete Roster |
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA - NEMA is pleased to announce the addition of Mike Kinrade to its roster of professional athletes for the 2005 season.
Born and raised in Nelson, British Columbia, Mike has made living and working in the outdoors a priority throughout his professional career. At 17, Mike released his first full-length mountain bike film 'Hidden Pleasures' and was awarded 'Best Mountain Bike Film' at the Vancouver Film Festival. The launch of his film production company, MPF Productions, followed shortly thereafter.
His experience acting and producing videos led to his involvement with a television project three years later. What began as a proposed thirteen part television series grew into "Drop In Television," the first mountain bike-centric TV show, now airing for the fourth year.
As further proof of his rise in the mountain bike world, Mike is one of the few athletes to be invited to the Redbull Rampage for three consecutive years. With Redbull's participation, the freeride category has refocused the sport of mountain biking in mainstream media. Mike scored results of 5th, 8th and 9th in his three appearances, cementing his position as one of the sports most skilled riders.
Not one to stay idle in the off-season, Mike is currently working with the Baldface Lodge, one of the world's most popular cat skiing lodges, to design and develop the premier MTB destination in British Columbia.
Mike Kinrade's supporting sponsors for 2005 include Devinci Cycles, NEMA, Dakine, Dainese, Marzocchi Suspension and Toolshed Sports. Mike is currently featured in NEMA's 2005 'Focused' marketing campaign.
About NEMA :
Ten years ago we set out on a mission - create a technical mountain bike short. After several hundred hours behind the sewing machine, we crafted the first riding system - a system that bridged the inner liner to a durable nylon shell. In the years since, we've continued to define the mountain bike apparel category, all the while staying true to our original goal... the product.
