Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Expands Mountain Bike Program with New Trails and Extended Riding Season


Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, renowned for having the Longest Vertical, Lift Accessed mountain bike trails in North America, announced further enhancements to its mountain bike program as it gears up for the season opening on Friday, June 17th. Riders visiting the resort will experience new trails, enhanced existing trails and a new daily riding schedule extending hours of operation and the biking season.

Four brand new machine built trails have been added to the resort, bringing the overall total to 27. The new trail system includes features such as big bermed corners, table tops, north shore style stunts and additional features for all levels of riders. The new trails were developed with both the beginner and expert rider in mind. To round-out the terrain options world class cross- country terrain is easily accessible form the base of the mountain.



Michael Dalzell, Director of Resort Sales and Marketing, is looking forward to an extraordinary summer of biking. "This will undoubtedly be the best season of riding at Kicking Horse to date. There has been considerable all around improvement to the trail system, including new mountain terrain, thanks to the efforts of our staff and crew."

In addition to physical terrain improvements, Kicking Horse has also signed a new rental agreement with bike partner, Devinci Bikes. The Canadian company, based in Quebec, designs and fabricates high performance cross-country, all mountain and downhill bikes which riders will be able to experience at the mountain this summer.

Mountain biking at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will commence June 17, 2005 and will be offered daily until September 4th, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Riding will continue in the month of the September on weekends from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. A special season kick-off rate of five dollars will be offered on opening day and on opening weekend only (June 17 - 19), riders can purchase a summer season pass for just $99 (regular $169). Closing day is scheduled for Sunday September 25, 2005.

Kicking Horse will host the annual Terminator Downhill Race, considered one of the best in Canada by top racers and a BC Cycling sanctioned event, on Sunday July 10, 2005. To register contact guest services at 1-866-754-5425.
