Henry Days, May 5th-8th 2005, presents: |
John Henry’s is pleased to announce that it will be hosting
the Shimano Front Yard Fury on Saturday May 7th, 2005. Every year, as a part
of the annual John Henry Days 4 day sale, John Henry’s has put on a show
for the community as an opportunity for families to be entertained by some of
the mountain bike industry’s most creative and most talented riders.
Last year, John Henry Days hosted the Shimano Backyard Jam and it went off.
We had riders from all over North America compete for cash and prizes as Shimano
stepped up to support the event exclusively. We had great weather, a great spectator
turnout and a phenomenal list of riders that put on a show to be remembered
for years to come. The prize money and awards finally were awarded to a very
deserving Dylan Tremblay, Shaums March and Chris Donahue.
We are pleased to announce that Shimano will be stepping up as the title sponsor
once again, and we are working hard to bring the best show possible to North
Vancouver.
This year on Saturday May 7th, we will be hosting the Shimano Front Yard Fury.
This event is not to be confused with any other as we have worked very hard
to establish this event as a premier event for spectators, the cycling community,
media and athletes alike. This is a great opportunity to come and see some of
today’s best riders from all over North America jam for the crowd as well
as a long list of prizes.
For 2005, we have built all-new ramps, added more dirt to the course layout,
added some new ‘moveable’ stunts as well as bringing in some live
music for your entertainment. We will have live performances all afternoon courtesy
of The Furios as well as a free show following the event. The Furios will be
rockin’ the block with their energetic punk/ska styles that will have
everybody in a rockin’ mood. This year’s event will once again be
hosted by Darren Butler, Hoots Jay and of course John Henry the Bicycle Man.
The title sponsor of the event is Shimano who will be on hand with many of their
representatives, as well as event cosponsors: Norco Performance Bikes, Ryders
Eyewear, Hoots, Jones Soda, Funn and Tom Lee Music.
This year’s rider list is once again an Invitational list to ensure the
highest quality of show for the spectators. It will feature some of the top
pro’s as well as some of the most energetic up-and-comers we can find.
We will have Shaums March leading up the judges panel as well as handing out
autographs for the kids all day long!
