Cove signs Gully to two-year deal

“I’m pumped. The support from Cove has been unreal,” said the 18-year-old, fresh off a whirlwind 2005 season. “I’m excited to work with them for another two years.”

Last year’s parade of progress saw Gulevich rock the status quo with top showings at Red Bull’s District Ride, Addidas Slopestyle in Saalbach and Bike Magazine’s Monster Park.

Gully’s free-flowing style secured him time in the spotlight with features in Mountain Bike Rider, Mountain Biking UK, Dirt and Bike magazines.

Mitchell Scott, Bike Magazine’s editor-at-large, hailed the young gun for his two-wheel prowess saying: “Gully represents the future of what it means to be a North Shore freerider, with the same laidback attitude as his forefathers and with a whole new bag of tricks that gets you amped for tomorrow.”

With that future in sight, Gully continued blowing up the big screen with standout segments in The Collective and New World Disorder, and is in the progress of shooting for upcoming features Roam, BITS CKD and NWD.

As for hype, Gulevich says he’s taking it in stride. “It’s pretty crazy with all the younger guys pushing the sport so hard nowadays,” he says. “But it’s pretty cool to be part of that – moving with the progression of the sport.”

Gully’s plans for 2006 will revolve around pushing his film, freeride and slopestyle work. “For 06 I’m looking to podium some slopestyles and step-up my sections for the movies.”

Gabe Fox, Cove marketing manager, says he’s stoked to have Gully onboard. “Geoff’s the perfect all-around rider. He’s a double-threat, stomping massive airs with style and killing it in the slopestyle. Not many guys can push all angles of the sport.”
