Fox Racing Shox Introduces Next Generation Freeride Fork

Watsonville,CA 6/29/04 – FOX Racing Shox announces the next generation long travel trail//FreeRide fork is here and it ’s called 36 .“This is an interesting product category for the industry,” describes Mario Galasso,VP of FOX ’s Bike division.“It ’s a category of bike that wants to be lightweight, but with the travel the bikes will have, they will be ridden very hard.We designed this fork to the same criteria we designed our new DH fork to.We will offer this fork in thru axle only because we feel QR style dropouts for the combination of intended usage and 8 inch brake rotors is not a sound choice.”

FOX is pushing technology ahead again by using oversized 36 mm upper tubes which allow the fork to handle extreme loads, offer excellent strength vs. weight, and once again provide unparalleled steering precision. The 36 is equipped with TALAS adjustable travel system, allowing the rider to tune their travel from 110mm to 150mm and will weigh under 5 pounds in its ’ single crown,,1-1/8 steer configuration.Similar to the new FOX DH fork, the 36 has a stepped 20mm thru-axle allowing the lower leg to settle into a lower friction point.

The 36 damper system provides externally adjustable rebound and compression damping.“The 36 damper contains several new technologies for us,” stated Brian Lampman,Fork Designer for FOX Racing Shox.“All we can say about the new system at this point is that it will result in improved perfor- mance with intuitive rider interfaces.”

FOX racers will be riding and testing 36 during the summer.Production models will be available in late Fall.Look for more details soon on www.foxracingshox.com.
