Different Bikes is the first brand new full service shop on the North Shore in about 10 years. It was founded in Sept 2005 by a small group of friends and family that are first and foremost riders that commute, road ride, XC ride and freeride. The ownership group also has a wide range of experience in business ranging from bike retail to accounting, manufacturing, human resources and software. We're folks who mix riding with family, jobs, and friends.
We come at this business from the view of bike consumers, with a feeling that we can build a great little bike store that provides consistently great value, amazing service and any product that people need. We know we have to earn every customer. The tagline is "Ride More" and it pretty much sums up how we feel. It's always better to ride a bit more. If more people, from kids to freeriders to seniors, rode more on beaters, commuters or whatever, (even if we don't sell them a single thing) then the city/country world will be a little better place.
