Bender Injured |
The rumours swirling around internet bulletin boards are true: Bender went down hard on Monday, November 14th and he's currently hospitalized in Provo Utah. Initially he was treated surgically for a fractured ankle in St. George, Utah and released. After he left hospital his discomfort was such that his friends called an ambulance. X-rays revealed a fractured L2 vertebrae and Bender was airlifted and eventually transferred to Provo.
The prognosis is excellent at this point but the road to recovery may be a long one. Bender successfully underwent surgery to fuse the fractured vertebrae to a neighbouring one this past weekend. He is recovering at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.

The drop itself was a 35 footer with a gap to clear. Bender decided to bail out just before landing and got tangled up with his bike.
