Week Two is in the bag, and Dan Barham picked the primo shots for the week. As before the number and quality of submissions made that a challenge, but I think Dan did a great job.
The winner for this week gets a Step Down three-quarter sleeve jersey from Dakine, so they can rip the trails in style.
Here are Dan's thoughts on the shots from Week Two.

Week 2 Winner

Is he really looking at the shooter? With that drop in front of him? - Photographer: Brad Walton || Rider: Kendall Isenhour (Click to comment.)
It's kinda obvious, isn't it? This shot from Brad Walton reached out from my screen, slapped me around the face a couple of times then sat there smugly basking in its own awesomeness. Great exposure, perfect framing to really accentuate the height of the drop, and timing that's right on the point of no return; it's a little noisy but what the hell, that only adds to its grittiness.
Second place

Holy crap, he's going fast! - Photographer: Simon Finlay || Rider: Reece Kuhn (Click to enlarge.)
I'm a sucker for blur, I'm a sucker for high contrast, I'm a sucker for toned black and white. TRIPLE KILL!
Third place

It may look like Moab, but it's actually Southern France. - Photographer: Damien Rosso ||
Rider: Yvaral Villier (Click to enlarge.)
Damien Rosso uses a great method to increase apparent depth in a shot - layering up the foreground with whatever's lying around. It's also a good way to fill in the more boring parts of the frame - this shot without the tree would seem empty and nowhere near as killer. The only thing that's stopping it being higher up the rankings is the harsh midday light - shoot this in Power Hour and you're laughing all the way to the bank.
Runner-up Number One

A good husband-and-wife team shot. - Photographer: Tyler Reid || Rider: Denielle Reid (Click to enlarge.)
Speaking of Power Hour, here it is in all it's golden loveliness. Two things stop this shot from rocking my socks off - the fact it's obviously taken from eye-level (getting higher or lower than the usual view we all see makes for way more interesting images) and the fact the rider's not pushing it quite as hard as I'd like. Get 'em to lean it over by shouting "THERE'S A COUGAR BEHIND YOU!"
Runner-up Numer Two

Twice as nice... - Photographer: Brad Walton || Riders: Javier Vega & Josh Stowell (Click to enlarge.)
The timing's pretty good, and nice composition, but the light's just not there. Hard cheese.
Special Mention

All I can think of is, slivers. - Photographer: Jadyn Welch || Victim: Dexter (Click to enlarge.)
'Just for Laughs' is one of my favourite TV shows, so as soon as I saw this shot of Dexter taking a road barrier to the crotch, I knew it had to be included.
Editor's Choice
A nice can can in the failing light of day - Photographer: Derek Dix || Rider: Jesse Darling (Click to enlarge.)
The Editor's Choice prize is awarded by Cam or I after the pro for the week has done their thing. It's a shot that floats our boat, for whatever reason. This week's winner of
an nsmb BroCard and one of our two new T shirt designs - I Heart the North Shore and the Shor Rydr - for this week goes to Derek Dix.
I like the starkness of the trees in the background combined with the white and grey of the birch trees in the foreground and the good use of the remote flash. The rider is illuminated but he's not overexposed, and I like the perspective. Derek - send me your mailing address and shirt size, and we'll get your prize out to you.
