Dirt Demo Leftovers
Yummy stuff the day after.

Shiny happy ruled today with opening of the Sands Convention Center and all the booth glitz a human can handle. What a differenece a day makes. Let me take you back a day to the hot, sweaty, grimy mass that is the dirt demo, part deux.
Yesterday we dropped a whole truckfull of bikes from dirty demo on you. Today it is the leftovers; and just like that hearty holiday sometimes the dishes that sit for a day get even better with age. So it is with these offerings a day old but still so shiny and new they are well worth a midnight run to the fridge. Enjoy.
New colours for the fullface lid from Bell. I said it once and I'll say it again: Bright green is the new black. This is the Cedric Gracia signature edition.
...and if you are not wild about the new black, and you want to wrap your noggin in the same brand lid Brian Lopes does, his colour scheme might be the one for you.
Here is a shot of the Crank Brothers wheel in action. Stu reported at length about these wheels from last year's show, but all those wheels were in perfect condition on the show floor. This one was strapped on the back of test bike and being run through the desert by random folks. They are every bit as sweet covered in dust as they are gracing a glossy catalog page.
Here is a shot of some totally custom finery on Greg Herbold's Turner. Greg is SRAM's Lead Product Evangelist, and he crafted this one of a kind tool kit out of a fairly heavy gauge titanium sheet and then wrapped it in a Foster's oil can. The lid is held on by the tool you see poking in to the side of the can near the top. He even has a flare in there and is most proud of the fact it is "completely ridiculous".
A closer look at the new Oakley hauler. Fuel economy estimates anyone?
If you can't stomach the thought of filling the Oakley rig with gas, don't worry. We have you covered. This mostly enclosed pedal-powered pod will certainly reduce your carbon footprint.
Troy Lee Designs has always pushed the envelope with their graphic design, and their new line of lids indicates there is no chance of that trend slowing anytime soon.
"In case of zombie attack, strap helmet securely on head..." The newest graphic for the Giro Remedy Lid.
The Troy Lee crew gathered to sign posters for their adoring public. Seated L to R: Shaun Palmer, Nathan Rennie, Steve Peat, Stevie Smith and Cam Zink.
That puts a wrapon the random bits from day 2 in the desert. We've got a ton more pouring in now that the halls of the Sands have opened their doors and the bright lights are on until the end of the week. Tomorrow kicks off with Lance Armstrong's press conference and will go full tilt from then on.
Keep watching for updates on Chris King, Knolly, Specialized and hosts of others. For now, a flat, comfortble spot is calling my name.
As usual, if you have thoughts just paste them up right here...
