Minnaar And Santa Cruz

The Word From Santa Cruz...

Words by Mike Ferrentino.

The final round of the 2008 World Cup was a tense but ultimately bountiful event for the members of the Santa Cruz Syndicate. At the end of the day, Greg Minnaar won the DH World Cup overall, Josh Bryceland retained his grasp on the junior DH overall trophy, and Rob Roskopp returned to the US with the team trophy gripped tightly in his hands.

The other riders may be re-negotiating but Greg Minnaar will be riding Santa Cruz for 2009

With regard to recent speculation that Greg Minnaar might be moving to Trek's still-forming effort in the off-season, now would be a good time to run an old Mark Twain cliché up the flagpole - "Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated."

Currently, Minnaar is at the end of his first year racing on the Syndicate. He's contracted through the end of 2009, and in the words of Syndicate manager Kathy Sessler, "At this point, we'd like to keep him racing with us for the next 20 years. Greg isn't going anywhere."
