Châtel Mountain Style Contest

There are a few days left before the 2008 Châtel Mountain Style Contest which runs from July 4th to 6th, features € 6,000 prize money and sponsor prizing, with Timo Pritzel as guest of honour, and more professional riders are still registering…including Darren Berrecloth (Can) and Eric Porter (USA)! 
The Mountain Style course (160m of elevation drop, 300m long, and 100m wide!) has been prepared especially for this downhill mountain biking event featuring freeride and slopestyle disciplines, by the Radical Films (Kranked series) pro riders, Ben Walker, a pro rider for Team Scott, the Châtel’s Bikes Patrol and Sébastien Giraldi, the Châtel’s lead Bike Patroller. The list of nations represented by the pro riders is impressive: at the moment 8 nations will be represented : France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czeck Republic, Canada, USA, and Great Britain. 
On a varied and technical trail, all riders (both amateur and professional) will have to show their abilities! They will be marked by a jury of 3 people, led by Ben Walker, based tricks thrown during their runs. Other essential criteria for the freeride discipline such as fluidity, involvement, and line choice will be also judged. For sure, the will enjoy themselves while competing on the course which features artificial and natural elements (step-up, step-down, wall-ride, doubles, rocky gardens and more) with a constantly changing landscape consisting of grass, dirt, stone, and rocks.

9am to 5pm: training for pro and am.
6.00pm to 8.00pm: aperitif and concert with the hip hop group : TH City with the « Ul Team
Fuzion » dancers in the church square.
Saturday July 5th
morning: training for pro and am.
afternoon: qualifications in 2 runs for professional and amateur riders.
4pm: dirt contest
6pm: event partners evening
Sunday July 6th
9am: training
10.30am: first final for pro and am
2pm: finals
On Saturday and Sunday the hip hop Dj H.M.C.E.E. will mix during the event!
