Depending on your weight and what kind of snow you are talking about, anything
under about 3.5″ wide doesn't offer enough flotation. My wife and I rented fat
bikes last winter and I found that the 3.8″ tire wasn't enough for me,
although it was for my wife. YMMV Check out point #2:
