Vid - Sunpeaks Young Guns
New Silvia Films
Date: 2011-12-13
Early this year we thought it would be cool to have some young locals killing it in a Sun Peaks video along with Justin showing how well he coaches his riders. Unfortunately we were not allowed to use the footage of them. They all shredded so hard for our cameras for us so we felt bad just throwing it away, so we put this together!
Do Jackson, Tristan and Liam shred harder than you? Express your sense of jealousy below.

My name is Justin Terwiel. I am 25 years old and I am from Kamloops, BC. I ride for the Bicycle Café, Giant, Troy Lee Designs and Oakley. I grew up riding at Sun Peaks and the resort has played a large role in developing me into the rider and person I am today. Over the last 9 years I have had the lucky opportunity to share my love of riding here and bring up many in the sport. Three of my best young proteges are Liam Stevens (14), Tristan Klasaut (14) and Jackson Phillips (10), who ride with me here in this vid. I have been coaching them for a combined 11 years. They absolutely shred, have unbelievable style and have zero attitude about any of it. It's not that they have had everything handed to them from day one, had the perfect environment or even that my influence is responsible for their level of game. It’s that they have consistently and progressively earned and developed their talents while loving riding more than almost anyone I have met, letting their riding speak for itself and sharing that love with everyone around them. I get more out of riding with them then most anyone else. I was really stoked to get to invite them to film with us at Sun Peaks and had a ton of fun riding with them for my last day of the year at the hill. Keep your eyes open for these boys in the future.
