Fairclough Moving On
Brendawg Off Specialized
Date: 2011-11-01
After four successful seasons with Monster Energy race programs, it's come time to announce that Brendan Fairclough (GBR) is moving on following the conclusion of the 2011 race season.
Team manager Sean Heimdal discussed the fun that "Brendawg" brings to the track every week. "Brendan’s charisma on and off the bike will be missed. There’s not many riders as talented in the world that are as much to watch on a bike. His style speak volumes of the fun you know he’s always having." Heimdal added: "Brendan's been riding in the shadows of the world's fastest riders for his entire career, now it's time for him to rise up and take his racing to another level. We all wish him the best with his ACL recovery this off-season and look forward to seeing him throwing it sideways in 2012."

Brendan was retrospective when speaking about his years with the team. "Right then this is a bit sad for me to be honest. The last four year of my life iv been riding for debatably the most professional and decorated team on the circuit. It's been amazing and I have been treated very well and have some amazing memories. I have see the team change over the years all for the better and will be sad to leave. I’ve been fortunate to have a good opportunity that I want to take up for 2012, will be a change but change can be good. I will be stealing a lot from what I have learned over the last four year from the whole team and putting in to my 2012 preparation."
Brendan's final parting words; "Good luck to the team, Sam and Troy... mostly for when I come back next year with two good legs to stand on the podium with them!"
Fairclough's final destination is not yet ready to be announced.
We’d like to thank the following companies for their continued support: Monster Energy, Specialized Bicycles, Mad Catz, SRAM, Truvativ, Rock Shox, Avid, DT Swiss, SDG, Renthal, Troy Lee Designs, Spy Optic, Maxima, Cane Creek, e-thirteen, Five Ten, Alligator, Obtainium, Freestyle, Kicker, KMC.

He's definitely ready to be No. 1 at a big team, I hope it's someone that will give him the bike and the support to fulfill his potential.
Scott is what I've heard so far.

sry cam, not allowed to yet :P
Team rumours suggest Scott with a carbon DH bike....
It would be interesting to see if this is one of the first of those rumours to come true.
On another note - a big announcement from 23 degrees is expected this week...
He has skills, but doesn't seem to have the off bike work ethic to contend with the top riders as of yet (consistently anyhow). Hopefully his knee surgery and a new team will be enough to light a fire under him. It would be nice to see him fit and in the gym so he can have confidence in his fitness, rather than relying on skills alone - which hasn't seemed to work for anybody since Hill a few years back. Maybe then he'll live up to his potential.

i think this year is a huge one for him, if he doesnt get injured and doesnt win anything then i think he's done. Unless he really starts training...
