Vid/Story - Capturing Depleted Time

The Last Morsels

To me, it’s funny seeing the frantic scamper for content in the waning days of our bike season. September 15th hit and despite the successfully busy season, I felt as if I was missing out on something.  To squeeze that last juice out of the season, the key was to somehow find a unique way to document the waning days. Despite the fact that I’ve taken lots of time to shoot and write content, I still felt as if I could pump out another edit, and just 4 or 5 more photographs.

The speed you’re going after the Whistler DH fade away is incredible. It’s been there forever, and it’s still one of my favourite sections of trail!

It’s not necessarily a bad thing either. The amount of quality content that comes out in the fall well exceeds the summer repetition. Constantly reading about the same World Cup results on every site, I find I crave fresh and unique content. Whistler resident’s Mitch Gulliver and Dylan Forbes ran The Summer of Summit project for Summit Sports this season, and it’s a site dedicated to producing video content of local riders that share their passion for mountain biking.

Scrubbing speed coming into the re-worked section of Schleyer always keeps my eyes wide!

Mitch and Dylan are Newfoundlander’s who have that Atlantic Canada charm. They’ll never leave their drink empty long, and they’ll be the first one up in the morning ready to work and seize the trails. We managed to capture some shots in the park that I like to ride, along with a couple of my favourite trails in Pemberton. It’s nice to shoot with people who share a similar vision and commitment, where all we’re really looking for is to capture the fun we have every day.

Not quite as distinguished as last month. I need my duster back.

Seeing people put in the effort to produce something that exemplifies them is what I like to see. There are so many good riders, all who have a unique outlook, personality, and riding styles. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a fresh video as the days get shorter, and rides get colder!

I loved every morsel of that. You? The video was the best minute I've spent in front of my computer in a long time. Point it below.

Woah, I've never seen a rider fishtail like that before. That was mind blowing.

That was awesome. No drawn out artsy intro, no soul searching music. No screwing around. Just pure shredding. Stephen rips! Stoked that he is on the team. Nice work buddy!

That was insane. I want to go ride again so bad right now.
Nice to see all bangers and no filler, something like that could have easily been drawn out to be 3 minutes long.

oh and Kever you should go ride pemby. its all like that.

I have ridden pemby. Unfortunately I hit corners at a reasonable rate of speed and look nothing like that guy. How do you do 3 big cutties in 3 seconds?

Yea after the Whistler DH Fadeaway bang a left off of a new step-up line. You'll then enter another group of trees and that's where it is. Right above Afternoon Delight/Crack Addict.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We had a lot of fun picking out some favorite lines in the valley!
