Andreu's New Ride
YT Industries
Date: 2011-10-24
Barcelona, Spain, October, 24th 2011 – As of right now, the enfant terrible of the freeride scene, Catalan Andreu Lacondeguy is riding with a new bike sponsor: YT has signed the young Spaniard and is looking forward to working with one of the most colorful personalities of the mountain bike scene.

The 22 year-old freerider from Barcelona is definitely the most flamboyant of mountain bike stars. Andreu is well known for his exceptionally high, far and super extended supermans, unmatched in style and elegance. This is why Andreu’s bikes are always under a bit more stress than those of other freeriders and have to withstand extreme gravity forces; one of several reasons why Andreu chose YT-Industries, a brand that stands for quality and innovation.
Andreu says about his new sponsor: „I feel really great on the new bikes. Especially the Dirt Love looks really cool and is great to ride. Perfect for big jumps, just like a dirt jump bike has to be! It wasn’t that easy to find a brand that fits my style perfectly. But when I looked at the 2012 YT-models, I found some amazing bikes that almost seemed to be custom-made for me. YT was definitely the right choice.“
The young team of the bike manufacturer from Forchheim (GER), which has been awarded several prizes for their unconventional and innovative design, is also looking forward to the cooperation with Andreu Lacondeguy. Markus Flossmann, YT-Industries’ CEO comments: "We are extremely proud Andreu chose us as his new sponsor because of our products. We can’t wait to work with him! Anyone who knows us knows that Andreu and YT are the perfect match. Just like him, our brand is kind of unconventional and a bit different."
For the next season, Andreu will ride on the YT-models DIRT LOVE, PLAY and TUES 2.0. To embrace his style completely at every point, Andreu will actively participate in developing these bikes. For YT and Andreu the 2012 season can already begin!
YT Industries sounds like a Taiwanese off the shelf brand to me - but apparently they are German. Anything to say about Andreu's third sponsor in as many years? Free your thoughts below...

as much of a riot as he seems, a guy with that much attitude and ego has got to be tough to work with over the long haul. i imagine he infuses lots of energy and excitement upon arrival, but wears out the welcome mat pretty fast. anyway, nice to have someone back him so we can keep enjoying his antics
How can he do all that he does on a hardtail?
At least Kona and Mondraker made squishy bikes for big hits.
does anyone know what his brother is up to these days? it seems that the two have parted ways professionally and as such you seldom hear of his brother anymore.
The only time I've seen this guy in the flesh was when I was up at Whistler during Crankworx 2011 for a press event. He and his buddies were wandering through the village shouting in Spanish, totally shitfaced, when one of them bumped into me roughly while I was walking back to my hotel to do some work.
I said something like, "Whoa, guys..." And they said something that in Spanish that sounded unpleasant. So, yeah, a third sponsor in three years is not that surprising.
That kid has some big balls and mad skill, now if he only could only tone it down a bit he might actually make the podium, saw him eat shit many times at Joyride, picked himself up and kept er going, thats one tough kid! Had a blast watching him give er.

Yeah like that. Thanks.
Tony Montana: What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of fuckin' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!
He has an attitude for sure, loves to get loaded and he's a bit of a punk, but I guess its what makes him that stomper on the course. I think his bro Lluis just didn't up his game enough to be in the top tier of the slopestylers these days? YT seems to be well known in Europe, but it's a new one to me too. Wonder what kind of cash deal was with that hmmm.
that's a company some of you will disgust. they sell direct to the customer, cutting off the holy local dealer ;)
but they can offer some really nice deals this way, like this:
http://www.yt-industries.com/en/bikes-2012/tues-ltd-wc/
whole bike for 2888,- eur :damn:
He's a douche, who cares if he's good at bicycles. I hear the train coming in the distance, a wreck is imminent.
Last time i checked, 90% of athletes out there didn't make the best roll models. But who cares? They get paid cause they are really good at what they do and entertain the masses. So go ahead, call him a douche, call him party boy, call him whatever the hell ya want, but get in line because the line for autographs starts waaaaaaaaaaay over there.Kids love him, the masses love him, he's really good at riding a bike, and he just signed with a punkrock company that sells direct. Alls good.
here's a question, when was the last time he had an actual result?
Result? Result? Are we talkin bout practice? Did you see the picture that leads off this story? Have you seen his latest video on the fmx freestle ramps with his pedal bike? The dude don't need no stinking results with airtime, steez and balls like this. All he has to do is ride and thats enough for him to make a living at it.Pretty rad.

to all the andreu haters out there, I know him personally as a fellow rider and he's a super nice guy who works really hard. He does like to party though and gets way too drunk alll the time haha. but that's part of his crazy lifestyle. he means no harm on anyone. i wish him the best of luck next season!
