Vid - All Mountain Trials
From Nicolai
Date: 2011-10-23
There was a time when North Shore riding was being described as dowhill trials. Thankfully those days are gone. What did you think of the way these lads tackled the terrain? Tell it...

I would have to say it worked excellently! That was both enjoyable and mind boggling to watch. If that was number three then I guess I'll have to look for the first two :D.
The silver fork with the thin blue crown caught my eye too, does anyone know what it is?

That was much more enjoyable than I expected based on the title.
Rather good in fact.

neat video ... the climbing at the beginning and the few little hops they were doing at the start didn't catch my interest to quickly, but given the title and the fact that you bothered to post this suggested some sweet footage was to be seen. pleasantly surprised. thanks. .... at first i did think that i had a momentary lapse of dyslexia when reading the title, wondering why trials was spelled so strangely.

I've always wanted to get a trail bike setup that would let me incorporate some of my trials stuff into my riding. Cool little video

Trials is what got me into the sport 15 years ago and I've always enjoyed applying that style of riding to my trail riding. I enjoy flow trails very much but there is something to be said about finding creativity in what nature put in front of you instead of building over and around it.

Great video. Certain parts reminded me of riding the shore back in the day.

Frank Schneider was once a pretty successful German DH rider, he then stepped back, and concentrated on coaching and other things biking related.
I love the vids since they show that you do not have to have skinnies, bridges and super-sick jumps to have fun and a challenge.
Part One
Part Two
Some other fun stuff

Part One and Part Two look riding the Escarpment in Ontario back in the day. Some of the hiking trail wasn't really ridable but we'd end up hopping around trials style on it.

Cool vid! Wondering why Gates Carbon Drive would sponsor this video like when they are both riding chains and derailleurs?

I was pleasantly surprised. Don't think the riding was different enough to warrant calling it "all mountain trials" as it was more just all mountain riding (albeit better then what I would serve up).
Two riders with different styles. Guy with white fork had more pleasing style and approach IMHO, a little more flowy. Guy with silver fork went out of his way to add a more 'trials' style. Trials is one of those things that I like to watch live but it never translates as well on film - which is not a knock on trials riders.

Awesome. As a mediocre (at best) trials rider myself, it definitely turns the forest into a playground with all sorts of new opportunities - I need to take better advantage of that.
Also - most peculiar trail braiding evar.

Wow - that was really great! Their previous vids were good, but this just goes up a notch. I really dig the non-traditional content - nothin' wrong with "Whistler whips" but this is really unique. The stall and off move at 2:50 was insane! It made me gasp - "Wait! the guy's going to endo? What?" Great stuff.
