All the good stuff kicks off on Thursday June 3rd and by the end of the weekend we will have seen the completion of the second annual North Shore Bike Fest. Lots of people are working away to help create a remarkable celebration of the Bike. Bike Races, Kids events, demo Rides, Guided rides, clinics, read on for more info;

Thursday June 3rd 

Big Mountain Bike Adventures Presents “World Tour.”

Slideshow featuring Sterling Lorence in Iceland, Jordan Manley on the Shore, John Gibson in Argentina, Dan Barham in Alaska and the Yukon…and more. And a collection of short films from Brock Anderson, The Coastal Crew and more capturing the latest in mountain bike action. Lots of prizes, cash bar and good times! Proceeds to NSMBA.

Capilano University Performing Arts Theater, North Vancouver at 7:00pm Tickets: $10, at the door.

Friday  June 4th

After the video night  you ought to be ready to rip. While picking up your race package at Interriver Park on Friday come race or watch the Opus bikes Cyclocross double crosser, a short fun prologue to the weekend’s activities. (All riders who wish to be in the King of the Shore contest need to complete in the Cyclocross, XC and DH events) Regi. at 6:00, racing starts at 7:00pm

Saturday June 5th

Demo Bikes, Guided rides, marathon race, kid’s races, pump track BMX demo and Beer Garden!

The Lezyne Marathon XC the Route is posted on our webpage and marked so get on out and start riding it. The start is at Interriver park. Head north up the Richard Juryn trail and follow our “northshorebikefest” tags. Though only 25k – don’t be fooled, its a marathon!  This event is part of the larger “Hell of a Series” So be sure to register earlier if you a planning to participate in the series  hellofaseries.com

Demo Bikes will be supplied by Obsession: Bikes, Steed Cycles, Different Bikes, NorthShore Bike Shop, John Henry Bikes and Lynn Valley Bikes. We will see Demo bikes from Trek Bikes , Specialized, Santa Cruz, Giant, Marin, Transition and Rocky Mountain Bikes. Be sure to come and sample the best the shore has to offer.

Endless Biking will be coordinating Guided rides with the help of NS Rides. Rides will be heading out a number of times during the day.

Endless Biking will also be coordinating the Fun Zone with ESC and the NSMBA.  This zone is set up for kids that like to ride and those who just want to try it out. Kids Demo bikes from Specialized,  a pump track, kids rides and races, BMX demo and more. These activities will be taking place throughout the day. Be sure to bring the kids bikes with you and some sunscreen!

What would a Festival be without food and beverages?  The Lions Club will be running our food court and the adults can enjoy a tasty beverage at our Cyclebetes Beer Garden. John Henry bikes and Central City Brewery are collaborating to raise money for the fight against junvenille  Diabetes.

Sunday June 6th

The Specialized Seymour Smackdown:  Neds Atomic Dust bin will again be the host venue for the annual  BC Cup downhill. All reports indicate that the route is buffed. Last year saw BC boy Tyler Morlan take first place, who will take it this year? Check out the map on line to see what all the action is about.

Cycling BC BMX BC cup; Interriver park has a great BMX track which is about to get even better. Our track is soon to receive a massive overhaul and we all look forward hosting the First BMX race during the Festival. Come and watch the action on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday will have tonnes of activities for the full family. Be sure to come by with the whole family and Celebrate your love of Biking:

We will see Demo bikes from Trek Bikes, Specialized, Scott,  Santa Cruz, Giant, Marin and Rocky Mountain Bikes. Be sure to come and sample the best the shore has to offer. We will also have other great products and services showing their goods, be sure to have a good look around.
