Rocky Day at Mt. Wash

Mount Washington had one simple goal for its bike park before the commencement of the 2009 summer season; improve the existing trails and make them buff!

The feedback is in and riders are absolutely stoked with the improved trail conditions on the mountain.

“Over the last decade, Mount Washington’s trail crew have put in long hours and hard work to an extensive trail system,” notes Islander Darren Berrecloth.  “The trails are more buff this season than I’ve ever seen up there, the hard work has definitely paid off.”

That’s great news for Mount Washington’s first big bike festival of the summer.  Roots, Rocky, Reggae, a customer appreciation weekend for Rocky Mountain bike owners, takes place this Saturday and Sunday.

All Rocky Mountain Bike riders get a free day of riding on Saturday and regardless of what brand of bike you’re riding, you get a 2 for 1 Bike Park ticket if you’re hanging out with a Rocky rider on Sunday.  To get these great deals, don’t forget to bring your Rocky Mountain Bike!

Freeriding legends Wade Simmons and Brett Tippie will be hanging out and riding with Rocky protégé Kyle McDonald throughout the weekend.  This is the perfect opportunity to meet your riding heroes and grab some autographs to boot.

The Rocky Mountain demo crew will set up shop in front of the Alpine Lodge with their fleet of plush park bikes.  This is the perfect time to test out this year’s new Flatline Park bike.  And if you like giveaways, Rocky is putting a sweet Flow DJ bike up for grabs.  Race Face and Marzocchi, who will also be at the mountain this weekend, will be tossing out more swag to the crowd on top of offering useful product advice over the two-day festival.

To cap off a sweet weekend, the delicious scent of BBQ and the sweet sounds of reggae will fill the air.  If you’re on a Rocky bike, get ready for free hotdogs!

So if you’re looking to get your belly filled, have a great time on two wheels, and session Mount Washington’s Bike Park on the cheap, then mark July 11-12th on your calendars for the Roots, Rocky, Reggae Bike Festival.  See you there!
