Freeride pioneer Jeff Lenosky has switched to Shimano and Fox Racing Shox for 2009! Here's what he had to say "I'm psyched to announce some new sponsors for the 2009 season and after a couple months of riding the new stuff I couldn't be happier!" The first real test on his new equipment came in February at the Rays MTB Park "Odd Couples" Video Contest where he teamed up with bmx legend Taj Michelich to finish second. The contest paired up one mountain biker with one BMXer, each team had two days to create a 3 minute video inside the park which were later voted on by spectators at the video premier. All of the videos can be viewed at raysmtb.com. The Shimano deal will have Jeff riding Shimano drivetrain, brakes and footwear as well as PRO Components handlebar, stem, and seatposts. "I'm totally impressed with the power of the Saint brakes which is really important for my style of riding and the PRO handlebar and stem are really light." Lenosky will also be using Fox Racing Shox on all his rides including his signature STP "The forks are great, the 15mm qr is perfect and keeps my front end light and stiff."
In addition he has also signed with Native Eyewear and and Tri-Flow Lubricants. "These are two more cool sponsors" said Jeff "Native has been around for a while, but under new ownership they have some awesome new products and are looking to support the mountain bike lifestyle with some cool projects that will be announced soon. Tri Flow is a well known brand and part of the deal was making some bike maintenance videos for their website. If you need to learn how to lube your chain check out their web site in a couple months!"
In addition to these new partners Jeff is proud to continue with his longtime sponsors Giant Bicycles, Fox Riders Co, Mavic, Clif Bar, Maxxis, Skullcandy and Straitline. Plans for the 2009 season include trials demos across the US, competing at the Sea Otter Classic, Teva Mountain Games and Crankworx Trials Comp as well as collecting footage for some upcoming video projects.
