Me off the box
Sunday was an AWESOME day! I went up to whistler today with a bunch of great people. I picked up Dylan Dunkerton at the ferry terminal, as I headed up. We met up with Curtis Robinson, Lewis (Curtis’ brother), Micayla Gatto, Trever Gatto, Graeme Meiklejohn, and his buddy Keiran. Sorry if I spelt any names wrong! We started out with a quick run down A line, ooo man the whistler trail crew are the best guys in the world! Everything was smooth and there were several new jumps on upper A Line
Next run, we went up Garbonzo. We hit up Freight Train to Side Track. Side Track is my new favourite trail, awesome berms, no ruts, and and hips you have to PIN into. Then we linked up onto A line, then the boneyard. Whistler has now opened the dirt step down to step up. We decided to hit the step down, but were kind of squirrely on the step up, as it had a rut/hole in the lip. Curtis hit it first pretty smoothly. Next was Dylan who SENT IT on his hardtail! This guy is gnarly, he sends it larger and with more style than 99% of the big bikes in town. Next run we decided to bust out Dylan’s camera to film some ripping and jumpsss..
We took the gondola to the top and rode the road down to the Garbonzo trails, that road was fassssst. But we road/filmed freight train, then side track. I was having tonnes of fun with the guys, then hiking back up the first time, I broke my chain. So I attempted to ride chainless, but the hips were hard enough to get speed with a chain…so I sat back and relaxed as Dylan performed some sick looking tables and turndowns. Trever later on blew his rear shock, so he had to go down to the bottom sadly. When we got down to the boneyard, We fixed my chain and sessioned the step down once again with Curtis, Dylan, and Graeme. Before the step down, Graeme was trying 270s out of the spine on his big bike. He was coming really close, but I guess the extra 7inches of travel were affecting him. On the stepdown, some cool tricks were thrown down!
And here are some older pics of another fun day at whistler
Dylan no hand to x-up. This guy has it all, the girls, the bicycle skills, and the camera skills to back it up!
I need more tricks…
